Car Exhaust Catalyst

Car exhaust catalyst is an important external purification device installed in automobile exhaust system. It can convert harmful gases such as CO, HC hydrocarbon and NOx nitrogen oxides discharged from automobile exhaust into harmless gases like carbon dioxide, water and nitrogen through oxidation and reduction.

  • Carbon Monoxide (CO) → Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
  • Hydrocarbons (HC) → Water (H2O)
  • Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx) → Nitrogen (N2)

The carrier of the automobile exhaust catalyst is generally made of honeycomb cordierite, and the surface of the carrier is coated with a coating material containing the catalytic activity of precious metals such as platinum, rhodium, and palladium.
